Weddingkart supports guests in any country. The process for adding international guests is the same as for local guests — the only requirement is that Weddingkart knows the guest’s country code.

Adding international guests manually

1

Open the Guests section

Navigate to the wedding in the app and open Guests.
2

Tap Add Guest

Tap Add Guest → Add Manually.
3

Enter the international phone number

Enter the guest’s name. The phone number field is set to India (+91) by default, so for an international guest either tap the country code next to the number and pick their country, or type the full number starting with + and the country code — Weddingkart detects the country automatically. If you type a number without the +, it’s read as a number in the country currently selected.
4

Save

Tap Save Guest. The guest is added with their international number.

Adding international guests via Excel

For large groups of international guests, include their numbers in your Excel file with the country code in the phone column. Weddingkart reads the country code during import and stores the number in the correct format.
Always verify international phone numbers before importing. A wrong country code means WhatsApp messages will not be delivered.

How Weddingkart handles missing country codes

How a number without a + and country code is read depends on how you add it: For Excel, if the number isn’t a valid Indian number, Weddingkart then tries reading its first digits as a country code. That’s why a UK number written as 447911123456 (country code included, just no +) still imports correctly. But a foreign number written without its country code can go wrong in two ways:
  • If it happens to look like a valid Indian mobile number (10 digits starting with 6, 7, 8, or 9), it’s saved as an Indian number — for example, a US number 917 555 1234 would become +91 91755 51234.
  • Otherwise its first digits may be read as some other country’s code, or the number may be rejected with a warning like “No valid phone numbers found for (name)”.
This means:
  • If all your guests have Indian numbers, you can safely omit country codes.
  • For every non-Indian number, include the + country code to avoid incorrect assumptions.
Do not leave out country codes for international guests in your import. Weddingkart reads a number without one as Indian first, which will cause delivery failures for your international guests.

Fixing a number that was saved with the wrong country

Open the guest’s profile, tap the country code next to the number, pick the right country, correct the digits if needed, and tap Save. If you’d rather fix it in Excel, correct the number (with + and country code) and re-import — but note that a completely different number is added as a new guest and the old one stays, so delete the old guest afterwards. See Re-importing an updated file.

WhatsApp messaging for international guests

WhatsApp messaging works the same way for international guests — they receive messages in the WhatsApp app they already use, with no additional setup required on their end. However, WhatsApp charges different rates per message depending on the destination country. International guests may cost more credits than Indian guests, depending on their country’s WhatsApp rate. The app shows the exact credits on the review screen before anything is sent. Check the current rates at weddingkart.co/pricing before sending bulk announcements to international guests. A guest can only receive messages on a number that has WhatsApp. If a message can’t reach a number, the message’s detailed report for that guest says “We couldn’t reach this number on WhatsApp” — either the number isn’t on WhatsApp, or the guest hasn’t accepted WhatsApp’s terms recently. Double-check the country code first; a wrong country code is the most common cause for international guests.

Common questions

No. They get messages in the WhatsApp app they already use.
The country code picker was still on India (+91). Tap the country code next to the number and pick the right country, or type the whole number starting with +1.
For non-Indian numbers, yes — include + and the country code, like +44 7911 123456. Indian numbers can be written without it.
The number was written without its country code and looked like a valid Indian mobile number, so it was saved as +91. Fix it on the guest’s profile, or correct it in Excel with the + country code and re-import.
They can. Other countries may cost more than India, depending on WhatsApp’s rate for that country. Current rates are on weddingkart.co/pricing. See Payments and credits.
Yes. A guest can have up to three numbers, each with its own country code.
Contacts saved in your phone without a country code are read in the country of your own Weddingkart login number. Edit the guest and pick the right country, or save the contact with its + country code before adding it.
That’s fine as long as the country code is still there. Write the country code followed by the number, like 447911123456 for the UK or 12125551234 for the US. Weddingkart reads it as an international number. What goes wrong is leaving out the country code entirely — then the number is read as Indian first.
