The referral program lets you earn bonus WhatsApp credits by sharing Weddingkart with other wedding planners and event managers. When someone signs up using your referral link and purchases a wedding plan, you receive credits added directly to your account.

What you earn

You receive bonus credits for each successful referral, when your referred contact signs up and makes their first purchase. The person you refer also receives bonus credits as a joining bonus when they enter your referral code while signing up (the Apply & Get Credits step). There is no limit to the number of referrals you can make. Every paying referral adds more credits to your account.
The more event managers you refer who become paying customers, the more free messages you accumulate — significantly reducing your per-wedding cost over time.
The current referral reward is on weddingkart.co/pricing. The notification you get says the exact number of credits added.

When credits are added

A few rules:
  • The referral pays out once per person. You earn when the person you referred buys their first plan. Their later weddings and top-ups don’t earn you more.
  • The wedding must be one they created. The reward is triggered when a wedding created by the person you referred is paid for — through Razorpay on the web or Android, or through Apple in-app purchase on iOS.
  • You get a notification titled “Referral credits added” that says how many credits you earned. Tapping it opens Refer and Earn.
  • You can’t use your own code. Entering it shows “Can’t apply your own referral code.”

Welcome credits for wedding guests

If someone signs up for Weddingkart for the first time without a referral code, and their phone number is already on a guest list for a wedding, they get free welcome credits. They see “Congratulations!” and a message with the number of free credits earned, along with the name of the wedding they’re a guest at. These credits work like referral credits: they sit in the personal account and can be transferred to a paid wedding the person creates.

How to refer someone

1

Open the Referral section

Open the Weddingkart app and tap Refer and Earn in the drawer menu.
2

Share your referral link

Tap Share Referral Link, or copy your referral code from the page.
3

Share with a fellow event manager

Send the link via WhatsApp, email, or any other channel. A direct message works better than just posting a link publicly.
4

Credits are added automatically

When your contact signs up and pays for a wedding, your bonus credits are added to your account automatically and you get a notification. No manual claim required.
Your referral link also appears in the Share and Earn tab of every wedding’s Google Sheet, with a ready-to-send message for each team member.

Joining with a referral code

The referral code step appears once, when someone signs up for the first time:
  1. After logging in, new users see How did you hear about us? They can answer or tap Skip.
  2. The next screen asks for a referral code. If they opened a referral link, the code is filled in and the screen shows You were referred and who referred them.
  3. They tap Apply & Get Credits. When the code works, they see “Referral applied successfully.” and the credits land in their personal account.
  4. They can tap Continue without referral code to skip.
If the code can’t be applied, they see one of these:
  • “Please enter a valid referral code.” — the code doesn’t match any Weddingkart user. Check the spelling, or ask the referrer to share the link instead of typing the code.
  • “Please enter a referral code.” — the field is empty.
  • “Can’t apply your own referral code.” — the code belongs to the person entering it.
The referral code screen only appears during first sign-up. If someone skipped it, the app has no other place to add a code later. Share the link before they sign up.

Using your referral credits

Referral credits are stored in your personal Weddingkart account and are not linked to any wedding by default. Before you can use them, you need to transfer credits from your personal account to a specific wedding. To use referral credits:
  1. Open Refer and Earn from the drawer menu to check your Total Balance.
  2. Tap Transfer Credits to Wedding, enter the number of credits, choose the wedding, and tap Proceed to transfer.
  3. Once transferred, the credits appear in the Wallet section of that wedding and can be used for sending WhatsApp announcements.
You can only transfer referral credits to weddings that you have created and already paid for. Credits cannot be withdrawn as cash or transferred to another user’s account.
Referral credits follow the same per-country WhatsApp pricing rules as purchased credits. Referral credits expire 180 days after they are added to your account, so transfer them to a wedding before then.

Reading the Refer and Earn screen

  • Collected till now — the credits still sitting in your personal account, including any that have expired. Credits you’ve already transferred to a wedding aren’t counted.
  • Total Balance (In your personal Weddingkart account) — the credits you can transfer right now. Expired credits aren’t counted.
  • Transfer Credits to Wedding — greyed out, with the hint No credits to transfer, when your balance is 0.

The Transfer Credits screen

  • Enter Credits to Transfer starts at 500. Use the buttons to change it in steps of 500, or type any whole number. The screen shows your Available credits balance.
  • Transfer to wedding account lists the weddings you created, each with its current Balance. Weddings you were only added to as a team member don’t appear.
  • If you pick an unpaid wedding and tap Proceed to transfer, you see Cannot Transfer Credits — “You can transfer credits to only a paid wedding.” Buy the wedding’s plan first. See Payments & Credits.
  • If you haven’t created any weddings, you see No weddings yet. You can create new and a Create Event button.
  • After a transfer, Credit Transferred confirms how many credits moved and to which wedding. Tap Go to Wedding to open it.
When you transfer, the credits that expire soonest are used first.

Troubleshooting

You earn when the person you referred pays for a wedding they created, not when they sign up. Also check that they entered your code during sign-up — if they tapped Continue without referral code, the referral isn’t linked to you.
If they saw “Please enter a valid referral code.”, the code was mistyped. Sharing the link with Share Referral Link fills the code in for them. The code step only appears on first sign-up, so it can’t be added afterwards in the app.
You tried to transfer more than your Total Balance. Lower the amount. Remember that expired credits aren’t in your balance.
Referral credits can only go into a paid wedding. Buy the wedding’s plan from its Wallet, then transfer.
You can only transfer your personal credits into weddings you created. If you’re a team member on someone else’s wedding, ask them to top up instead.
Credits expire 180 days after they’re added. Expired credits drop out of Total Balance but still count in Collected till now.
